A new beginning for you and B
Exciting times are here! Along with Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank, B has joined forces with Virgin Money to become one bigger, better and brighter bank. There's a lot to look forward to, so here are a few things to know.
The best of both banks
Virgin Money teamed up with B, Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank back in October 2018. Since then, we’ve been working hard to bring all the brands together under Virgin Money, creating one bank with over 6 million customers.
In September 2019, we were formally given the go-ahead to bring the businesses together, and B is the first brand to get the Virgin Money makeover.
We’re taking care of the details
The name of the account has changed, from B Current Account (and B Instant Savings Account) to Virgin Money M Plus Account (and Virgin Money M Plus Saver), but it will work exactly the same for now. There’ll be exciting changes coming, but we’ll let you know when.

Things you might want to know
If you’re with B already
Will I get a new card?
Your card will stay the same for now. When you’re ready for a replacement, we’ll send you a shiny new Virgin Money card. We’ll let you know before it happens.
Will my log-in details change?
Not just yet. You’ll still log into online banking with the same details and manage your money just as you do now. The login will change in future, but we’ll give you plenty of notice and help you with the process.
Can I still use the B app?
Yep, you can still download and use the B app. There’s a new Virgin Money version coming with all the same features you already know and love, but we’ll let you know when the update is ready.
Do I need to update my contact details?
Nope, we’ve got your contact details already. You only need to update them if you’ve changed them recently.
What happens to my other accounts, like my B Savings account?
The B Savings account that comes with your B Current account will also be rebranded to Virgin Money, but any other products you have with Clydesdale Bank, Yorkshire Bank, B or Virgin Money will stay the same for now.
We’re just at the start of the Virgin Money journey, so there’ll be more changes to come, but we’ll tell you when they’re on the way.
Can I still use B branches?
Absolutely. They’ll look a bit different from December when we give them a Virgin Money makeover. But you’ll still be able to do everything you usually do in the branch.
Can I now use a current Virgin Money Store?
For the time being you will need to continue to use your usual B Store, Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank branch for your banking. If this changes, we’ll let you know.
Can I still use a Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank branch?
Absolutely. We’ll be giving them a Virgin Money makeover but there’s no change just now if you use a Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank branch to service your B account. If your sort code for your account starts with 82, then you can carry on using any Clydesdale Bank branch. If it starts with 05, then Yorkshire Bank branches will continue to be able to help you.

How do I complete my application?
If you’ve already started an application for B and have been asked to upload documents, you can still do that here (Link opens in a new tab). Your account will open as a B account and change to Virgin Money one in December.

Stay safe and secure
It's important to keep an eye out for fraud and scams, especially during times of change. To keep yourself safe, please follow these five rules:
- Never disclose security details, such as your PIN or full banking password
- Don't assume an email, text or phone call is authentic
- Don't be rushed – a genuine organisation won't mind waiting
- Listen to your instincts – you know if something doesn't feel right
- Stay in control – don't panic and make a decision you'll regret
