What interests and excites you about technology?

Everything really. But mostly, it’s the opportunity to make people’s lives easier, to access new services and entertainment and of course the speed by which it’s changing!

What’s your favourite piece of technology (that you own)?

That’s a tricky one. My iPhone 6S+ is my most used piece of technology by far. It never leaves my side. Although, I would say my most favourite piece of technology right now would be the Apple TV. It’s such an exciting platform and we’ve only seen a glimmer of what it’s capable of.

Which piece of technology do you wish you’d invented?

Pokemon Go! It’s the most popular mobile app released in ages, and it went viral incredibly quickly. And it’s been so fascinating to watch it grow. People of all ages, young and old, from all over the world have hit the streets in their millions to hunt for Pokémon. Who would have thought a cartoon could have such an impact? Its fame is a real success story for its makers.

“Just point it at products in your home that need replacing and it will add them to your shopping list in live time.”

What’s the weirdest piece of tech you’ve ever seen?

There have been so many things over the years, it’s tough to narrow it down to one. The most recent thing I’ve seen that I thought was a bit odd is a connected pet collar. It has a camera attached to it so you can track your pet (granted very useful) but also see what they see.

Are there any new tech gadgets that haven’t been released yet, that you’re excited about?

Definitely the Amazon Dash. It’s your very own personal wireless scanner that sits in your kitchen and connects straight to your Amazon Fresh account. It has just made shopping even simpler. Say you’ve got down to the last slice of bread - you can simply hold the microphone on the Amazon Dash, tell it you need bread and it will be added to your basket online ready for when you next do a shop. It also scans barcodes. Just point it at products in your home that need replacing and it will add them to your shopping list in live time. Anyone in the home can use it, for anything really. It’s the next big tech advance in the groceries market. And Amazon have been sending them out for free to customers already using Amazon Fresh.

Which piece of tech do you think we’ll all be buying next?

Probably one of the virtual reality headsets that are coming out soon - the Oculus Rift or Playstation VR. These are total game changers that only touch the surface of what we can do with VR. I’m so excited to see what the future hold for VR - like how we interact with it and its possible applications. Not to mention that nothing compares to its ‘cool’ factor.

What do you think the future of technology holds?

Easier, faster more connected lives. In the next two to three years we will see another huge shift in the way people engage with devices and technology to live better, healthier and more enriching lives.
