And if you’d like to have an overdraft with your new bank account, speak to your new bank or building society before starting your switch. Your new bank or building society will be able to advise if you’re eligible for an overdraft, dependent on their lending criteria and your credit status.

Using the Current Account Switch Service we’ll arrange for any Standing Orders, Direct Debits and any regular credits made to your account to be transferred to your new account with us within five working days of receiving this information from your old bank.
Your old bank will transfer any balance to your new account and close your old account on your chosen switch date.
In just seven working days your switch will be complete. You can use your old account as normal until your switch date.

If my old bank doesn't use the Current Account Switch Service, can I still switch to you?
Not all banks or building societies in the UK offer the Current Account Switch Service (CASS). But even if they don't we can still help you switch your account and any regular payments to us.
We will take care of switching your account. This service is completely free, but it won't be covered by the Current Account Switch Guarantee.
When you have opened a B Current account, we'll ask you to fill out a simple form. We'll contact your old bank or building society within two business days for a list of all your regular payments and credits from and to your account for the last 13 months. Your old bank or building society should send us this information within five business days.
Once we receive the information from your old bank or building society we will arrange for any Standing Orders, Direct Debits and any regular credits made to your account to be transferred to your new account with us within five business days.
We will contact you to agree a date to complete the switch. We can arrange with your old bank or building society to transfer any balance to your new account and close your old account on your chosen switch date.
Payment Transfer Service
Another switching option is the Payment Transfer Service. This lets you transfer your Direct Debits and Standing Orders to your new account over a three month period – either all on the same date, or at different times.
With the Payment Transfer Service your old account won’t be closed. Also, your new account details won’t be given to anyone who makes payments to your old account.
The Payment Transfer Service isn’t covered by the Current Account Switch Guarantee. But, the good thing is that anyone can use it – no matter what type of current account they have.
